Playoffs
Here is the information for the 2009 playoffs. Please see letter below from the NAFL Board about the 2009 playoffs.
Playoff Rules
1. All teams will make the playoffs.
2. Ties will be broken to seed the teams, by head to head record and then by coin toss or hat draw.
3. The higher seeded team shall be the HOST until the Championship game.
4. The overtime rules apply including penetration. For more detail see the rules posted in the Documents and Handouts.
5. The Championship games for NAFL D2, and NMFL D1 divisions will be November 21, 2009.
6. Some games will shift around during the playoffs. We can't know how many games are on what field until the seeding is done, so until then all dates are tentative. Some games scheduled for Saturday 11/7 will be played either Thursday 11/5 or Monday 11/9, based on field space availability.

Subject: Change in Playoff Dates
North Atlanta Football League Families:
The North Atlanta Football League (NAFL) would like to inform all families involved in our program about a necessary change in the playoffs for 2009 Division II playoffs affecting all age groups except 11 yr olds. As a result of growth in number of teams, which NAFL is always, excited about, the playoffs will now require an additional series of games. In order to finish up the playoffs as originally published, teams would be faced with the possibility of playing a maximum of five games in two weeks and a minimum of three games in two weeks. While playing three playoff games in a period of two weeks is somewhat normal for playoff time, the possibility of asking a team to play five games in two weeks puts an unacceptable burden on potential teams.. The NAFL believes that all of the football teams have worked hard all season long, and deserve the best set-up possible for the playoffs. Given these factors, the NAFL has made the decision to change the dates for the 2009 Playoffs- see below for updated playoff dates- weather permitting.
The updated playoff dates for all age groups (with exception of 11 yr olds):
Play-in Games will be played the week of 11/2-5
Quarter-Final Games: Saturday 11/7
Semi-Final Games:Saturday 11/14
Finals (Championship Games): 11/21
For 11 yr old D2 teams:
Round 1: Saturday 11/7
Semi-Final Games: Saturday 11/14
Finals (Championship Games): 11/21
